Bright pink has been quite popular this winter, captivating audiences on the runways of many designers, including Sies Marjan, Prabal Gurung, and Hellessy. While it’s a color I usually admire in décor or on other people, I was immediately smitten with this particular statement piece when I saw it on the NY&C app and in person at the New York & Company store in Bowie, MD.
In the past, I would’ve thought bright fuschia was too attention-grabbing for my usually shy nature. But lately, I’m feeling a little more adventurous in my fashion choices (and honestly more comfortable with my curvy figure), and I decided to embrace something new. In fact, I’ve been gravitating towards this color a lot lately, and tried on a few pieces at New York & Company in this same color (snapshots below), ultimately deciding on their Organza Bow Halter Top.

What’s the first thing you think of when you hear “women’s rights”? Does fashion ever come to mind? Seeing that this is the last day of Women’s History Month, I felt inspired to dress like some of my favorite women’s rights figures. All of the women highlighted in this post have made an outstanding mark on history and have motivated me to do the same. It’s crucial to speak up for what is right, freely express yourself, and make your voice heard, whether verbally or through the way you present yourself to the world in every outfit you wear.

In any case, a woman wants to feel beautiful and desired by that special someone in her life. I am not that different when it comes to celebrating Valentine’s Day either. I, too, like to be attractive, but I don’t think a woman’s allure should be determined by how skimpy her outfit is. In fact, with a few closet staples, I’ve created three Virtuous Girl Approved outfits for Valentine’s Day that are not only cute but comfortable.

I’ve never loved this sweater more than I have now. When I bought it a few years ago, I honestly didn’t know how to style it. It was actually a dupe for a pricier pullover I’d seen at J. Crew, but my budget only allowed for this piece I bought at Target. Unsure of what to do with it, I always ended up looking frumpy, but once I learned how to balance out the relaxed fit of the piece, I began to wear it again and again. In contrast with a casual denim jacket and fitted black jeans, this sandy brown bejeweled sweater adds the perfect amount of bling to my look.
